Hackamore.com is my domain.
Hackamore Hydroponics was Memphis, Tennessee's
first hydroponic supplier and grew from my interest in peppers and home
food production. I discovered hydroponics and had hobby systems for
several years, but in those pre-internet days I had to drive to
Nashville for parts and supplies! So instead of that I brought Memphis,
Tennessee it's first local hydro
source, Hackamore Hydroponics.
These days there's Sun City Hydroponics and
with a storefront, a decent inventory, helpful staff, etc. they're the
best local choice for hydroponic supplies. I no longer sell hydro
stuff, though recently I've found a source for reasonably priced
greenhouses for the serious home gardner and I may start handling those.

But why is it named after a rope bridle? Because my father, L.F. Matthews had Hackamore Ranch near Holly Springs, Mississippi where he was one of the first US Importers of Chianina* cattle from Italy.
Here's a link to the American Chianina Association.
*Chianina cattle are generally regarded as the largest breed of cattle in the world.
